My Work
A breakdown of my VFX work over the years, including personal projects as well as projects for clients.
Work for Clients
Compositor and Roto Artist for Luminary Studios (2024-2025)
Between July 2024 and January 2025, I worked with Luminary Studios on an upcoming short film called Heat Served Cold. My main role was as a rotoscope artist. I would rotoscope around the characters in several shots so that VFX elements could be placed behind them. I was also a compositing artist on several shots. I composited in VFX elements into several shots, including elements that needed to be tracked onto characters.

During this time, I also worked on an advertisement project. My role was to create a 3D scene with a sci-fi aesthetic. Both of these projects had very tight deadlines, so I had to work as efficiently as possible in order to complete my work on time.
Junior Compositor for Bumpybox (2022)
I worked with Bumpybox from the months of September to December as a junior compositor on a feature film. I worked on a large number of shots for the film. I learned a great deal from working on this project: I was able to produce a lot of work in a tight deadline. This job also helped me to develop my compositing skills as well as furthering my understanding of the workflow of VFX studios.

Motion Capture Software Operator for a VFX Company (2022)
I operated the motion capture software OptiTrack Motive for a motion capture shoot for a company I cannot currently disclose due to an NDA being in place. My job was to set up the motion capture equipment and make sure the software was recording the motion capture data. I also had to prepare the virtual characters and link their movements to the movements of the actors on the motion capture stage. I then had to save out these recordings and send them to the VFX company.
Holographic UI Artist for the Short Film 'Expiration Date' (2021)

I was the holographic UI artist for the short film 'Expiration Date'. My job was to object track the gun throughout the short so that I could then place the gun UI elements I created onto it. The object tracking stage was incredibly challenging especially for the close-up shots. However, I am happy with the end result I created. I then made the UI elements, ensuring that they were futuristic in appearance. I also had to make them respond to the main character's movements, such as when he pressed buttons on the screen.

Personal Projects
Driving Car Scene (2024)
This project involved blending two filmed plates together seamlessly, those being footage of characters inside a car filmed against a green screen, and footage of a moving street. Achieving a realistic key was crucial for this shot to work, so that not of the detail in the characters was lost.

Kitchen Scene (2023)
This project involved creating a CG kitchen environment that looked as photorealistic as possible. The 2 most important factors in achieving this was lighting and compositing. Creating realistic indoor lighting helps make the environment feel tangible. The compositing stage was also vital, as it is where I added in the camera imperfections that really help to make the scene feel realistic, such as glow and depth of field.

Airport Lounge Unreal Engine shot (2022)
This project involved creating a CG airport environment and compositing it together with live-action footage I filmed on a green screen studio set. This project utilised virtual production techniques such as lighting and animating the CG environment in Unreal Engine.

Manchester to New York VFX Conversion (2022)
This project involved filming an area of Manchester, and using CG to give the appearance that it was actually filmed in contemporary New York. I needed to clean plate the shot to remove any UK specific objects and then use CG to replace those objects with New York styled objects.

Sci-fi City Shot (2021)
I created a sci-fi city environment in CG and composited it together with live action footage. Various buildings and roads needed to be created for this scene. Lighting was key for this shot, as it needed to match with the live-action footage, and to help create the mood that I wanted for this shot.
