About My Work
I'm Thomas, a compositing artist committed to producing the best shots I can. I find great enjoyment in the rotoscoping and compositing process. I believe that compositing is one of the most important steps in VFX. A well composited shot can make the blend between live-action footage and VFX completely seamless.
My Projects
Below are three examples of compositing projects I have worked on. Each one shows the skills I have as a compositing artist:
Kensuke's Kingdom
In 2022 I worked with Bumpybox as a freelance junior compositor on the feature film adaptation of Kensuke's Kingdom. My role was to take the assets of a shot and combine them to create a cohesive final shot, ensuring they all matched stylistically to the shots already completed for the film.
Car Scene
This project involved blending together a shot of two characters inside a car without another shot of a moving background. The goal of this project for me was to further develop and improve my keying skills to create a more realistic key that retains all the detail of the original shot.
Manchester to New York Conversion
This project involved filming an area of Manchester, and using CG to give the appearance that it was actually filmed in contemporary New York. I needed to clean plate the shot to remove any UK specific objects and then use CG to replace those objects with New York styled objects.
